Green Garbage : Roll Off Dumpster Companies and Recycling

recycle02text_fix_rgb2Trash companies are on the front line of recycling every day. We are the gatekeepers to America’s recycling stream and we are responsible to see to it that the materials we are responsible to dispose of wind up in the proper facility. The benefits to recycling are vast and benefit both the consumer AND the economy.

Did you know that recycled concrete is crushed and re-used as substrate for new roads? How about that the leaves you rake to your curb are composted to create nutrient rich soil? Recycling done properly saves the consumer money by reducing waste removal volume and costs, creates jobs in the community, and preserves our natural resources.

Here are some recycling statistics from Ocean County:

  1. During the six month period between July 1, 2013 through Dec. 31, 2013, Ocean County collected 40,702 tons of recyclables from its municipalities.
  2. As a result of that collection, our towns will share in a recycling revenue payout of $499,414.
  3. In addition, those municipalities collectively saved almost $2.9 million by not dumping those materials in the landfill where they would have to pay a tipping fee.
  4. The Ocean County Northern Recycling Center consists of a 60 acre site which includes a new single stream facility with state of the art processing equipment, education center, two large compost fields, backyard compost demonstration area, 24 hour resident drop-off recycling center and a special waste drop-off area.

The non-recycling fee schedule in Ocean County is as follows:

FEES (Per Ton)

Municipal Waste
(Type 10 or the stuff in your trash can at home)
$71.21
Bulky Waste
(Type 13 this would be stuff from a house cleanout)
$81.21

(Type 13C this would be any type of construction waste)
$81.21

Please Call
Grass Clippings

As you can see, it pays to take anything out of the waste stream that can be recycled for free. Refuse removal is very expensive in New Jersey. In fact, New Jersey ranks as one of the highest states in the country for refuse disposal so whatever you can keep out of your roll off dumpster definitely pays.

I hope this was informative and helpful. As always, feel free to ask any questions via our Contact Us form on our website.

Be safe, be well and most of all BE HAPPY!
