What is a Roll off Dumpster? What is Weekly Dumpster Service?

redI answer so many questions people ask me here that I actually forgot an oldie but goodie; “What is a roll off dumpster?” Well, the answer is simple. It is a large steel container that is used to remove large amounts of debris. The dumpster can hold a variety of materials that is really only limited to what will fit inside it and what can be disposed of legally.

People often confuse roll off service with weekly commercial/industrial service. Let me explain the difference quite simply; a roll off dumpster is placed on a site for a temporary amount of time to accomplish a project whether it be a construction/remodel, property clean up, house cleanout or whatever. But the operative word is temporary. Usually, roll off containers vary in size from 10 cubic yards to 40 cubic yards. They may be on a site for quite a while, but it isn’t going to remain there.

Now weekly dumpster service is a permanent service. The containers remain there for years and are serviced by the trash company on a weekly basis. The container pickup is part of a regularly scheduled route and you will receive your pick-up on the same day every week. The size and frequency that you get your container varies based upon the needs of each individual business.

For example, Mom and Pop Accounting Service may only need a 2 yard container picked up once per week whereas Frank’s House of Cheap N’ Good Chicken Wings may need an 8 yard container picked up once per week. Further still, Big Bob’s Grocery might need an 8 yard container picked up 4 times per week. Certainly you see the idea here. Permanent weekly service is perfect for permanent location businesses such as strip malls, shopping centers, gas stations, etc. This service is not offered on a temporary basis.

So, if you need to get something done and it is of limited duration, you need a roll off dumpster. If you need service at your place of business, you need a weekly dumpster service. I hope this helps answer your questions regarding the difference between weekly service and roll off dumpster service.

Be safe, be well and most of all BE HAPPY!
