The demolitions will be taken over by the City of New Orleans in the next month. The more than 100 year-old home was owned by Maurine Gould, who said it was originally her great grandmothers home. Gould,67, said she had called about eight months ago to have it torn down. It was flooded up to the roof during Hurricane Katrina and had been flooded four feet during Hurricane Betsy.”I am happy to have them take it down, but please help me get something else there(on her homesite),” Gould said.
